Position Description
The CAD technician is responsible for preparing civil engineering drawings (using Autodesk Civil 3D CAD) in line with established standards and procedures for leasing, permitting, zoning, design, construction, or modification. Position is responsible for supporting multiple projects and teams by creating, managing, updating, and maintaining a variety of drawings, with an eye for presentation and attention to detail.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide CAD drafting and design support for Project Managers and Engineers during the planning, design and construction of land development and civil infrastructure projects.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to translate mark-ups into drawings, check and plot drawings, correctly label final working drawings, and update contract drawings and specifications.
  • Perform CAD services in accordance with company standards. 
  • Assist in field activities to gather project information.
  • Review all work for completeness and accuracy.
  • Communicate regularly with Project Managers, Engineers, and Surveyors.
Minimum Work Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience or completion of a CAD technical education program.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Experience as a design and drafting technician.
Preferred Education and Skills Experience
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, dependable
  • Be detail oriented, organized, and have good follow-through skills.
  • Develop excellent working relationships with team members.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Current knowledge and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting for extended periods of time while drafting.
  • Ability to use major hand functions to utilize CAD software & other programs.

Salary and Benefits
Salary range for position: $40,000/yr - $60,000/yr
