Position Description
As a Hazardous Waste Hauler/ Fuel Sampler, will be responsible for removing & transporting Hazardous Waste (RCRA & Non-RCRA, i.e. Diesel, Gas, Oil, Oily Solids, Oily Water, Paint, etc.) from various job sites throughout the day. This position will split time between driving & technician duties and will be cross trained to perform fuel sampling services. Youll drive to client locations to perform technical fuel‑management taskshelping customers stay compliant with environmental and safety standards.

Training & Travelling Requirements
  • Attend in-person and virtual training sessions to obtain required certifications (see Preferred Qualifications for details).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Inspect truck, load drums, and drive up to 200+ miles/day (31’ truck)
  • Communicate clearly with site reps and TAIT coordinators
  • Hauler Duties: Load hazardous waste drums onto TAIT truck from client sites and unload new empty drums.
  • Fuel Sampler Duties: Conduct visual fuel sampling from client fuel tanks and analyze contaminants such as sediment, water, algae, sludge, rust, and clarity loss.
  • Complete detailed visual sampling reports for the office team.
  • Assist as a technician helper on Fuel Polishing jobs requiring two people as needed, including work on aboveground tanks, underground tanks requiring confined space entry, or day/generator tanks.
  • Open to Cross Training on Fuel Polishing Role
  • Adhere to all safety, environmental, and compliance protocols
What You Bring
Minimum Requirements
  • Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License
  • 1–2 years of commercial driving experience
  • Basic tech skills (email, mobile forms)
  • Attend in-person and online training sessions to obtain certifications.
  • Clean driving record and comfort operating large vehicles in tight spaces
  • Willingness to travel overnight and work overtime (advance notice given)
  • Professional communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hazardous waste handling knowledge
  • Hazmat AND Tankers Endorsement
  • Technician Experience in any industry
  • HazWoper, Fall Protection, or Confined Space certifications
  • Familiarity with fueling systems and Veeder-Root monitors
Physical Requirements
  • Drive up to 1,000 miles/week during peak times
  • Work at heights up to 15 ft with PPE
  • Use equipment to lift/transport heavy barrels safely
Salary and Benefits
Salary range for position: $26/hr. - $30/hr.
